Kaiyodo is going back to its roots. Before they released the revolutionary Revoltech line of action figures, before they changed the world of pack-in toys with Choco Eggs, and before they were commissioned to create exhibit pieces for The American Museum of Natural History, Kaiyodo was a humble hobby shop in Osaka that decorated its store front with detailed dioramas for plastic models. And now they're bringing back these scaled-down set pieces to celebrate the anime series that helped put them on the map--Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The Kaiyodo Evangelion Figure World Exhibit displays recreations of your favorite moments from the films along with a few original scenarios that stretch the power of the artistic license. To think, you could create a similar setup for your figures with a bit of ingenuity and miniature building materials. Makes you reconsider your own display layout, doesn't it? The exhibit runs from November 23rd to December 23rd at the The Ueno Royal Museum in Tokyo. Admission is 500 yen for adults and the museum is open from 10:00AM to 5:00PM. Just keep in mind that these awe-inspiring recreations of the Third--and Forth--Impact might turn you into a quivering puddle of LCL.
